Welcome Letter

Dear Preschool Parents,

We are very excited for the start of another school year!  School will begin on Monday, August 27th, this is a full day.  If your child is full day, or staying for extended care, please send a lunch as well as their napping items.  Please keep in mind that we are promoting healthy eating habits and that soda, candy or foods high in sugar are NOT permitted.  Please bring the items from the supply list on the first day of school and be sure that ALL personal items brought to school are LABELED.  Please bring any outstanding paperwork as well.  Children cannot be admitted without ALL paperwork, including physical and immunizations.  Children should come dressed in play clothes (they will get dirty) and athletic type shoes with socks.

Children should be at school promptly at 7:30AM each morning.  Upon arrival, children will need to have a quick Health Check each day.  We will check eyes (for redness or mucous), nose (for green mucous), and skin (for rash, unusual coloring, or warmth).  Children with a severe cough will also not be admitted.  Please keep in mind that these precautions are for the safety of your child as well as the others.  Children need to be signed in after the Health Check and signed out by an authorized adult each day.

This may be a difficult transition for your child (or for you).  To help make the transition easier, talk to your child about the upcoming event.  You may want to mark the first day on the calendar.  It is best to sign your child in, leave him or her with a teacher, say good-bye, and go.  The longer you stay, the harder it is for your child.  Please be assured that we are well prepared for difficult transitions and we are here to support you.  Feel free to call to inquire about your child at any time at (951) 689-3008.  If we cannot get to the phone, we will return the call at the first opportunity.

Please note that if you are dropping your child off between 6:30AM and 7:00AM, use the driveway off Streeter Ave. and the parking lot behind preschool.  After 7:00AM, the Streeter Ave gate will be closed and the main parking lot will be used.  In the event that the gate is open after 7:00AM, be sure to use the main parking lot as children will be on the school yard at that time.  We do not open until 6:30AM and cannot accept children any earlier.

We will be hosting our New Parent Orientation on Thursday, August 23rd at 6:30PM in preschool.  This is an excellent time to learn the procedures and routines of Our Lady Preschool as well as meet the teaching staff and tour the facility.  We strongly encourage all new families to attend this orientation as it will make the first day of school easier on everyone!

We look forward to seeing all of you soon!  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call.
